Carrying Passengers and Animals

Seat-belts for when carrying Carrying Passengers and Animals must wear their seat-belts if fitted. The only people not allowed to wear a seatbelt are those with a medical exemption certificate. Being pregnant does not necessarily mean you do not have to wear a seatbelt.

Sometimes it’s too easy to hop in the car without thinking about whether it’s the best way to get from A to B, or even whether you’re really fit to drive. This section will help you think about how you can make your journey safer and more economical. Seating Passenger should try to seat themselves in a way to give the driver the best vision of what is about him while driving

Not Distracting Driver While a Driver is in the driving seat with the engine on a passenger should not talk or other wise distract the driver such as asking them to look at a picture or anything which would cause them to take their concentration off the road

Driving with Carrying Passengers and Animals in the Car

Carrying Passengers and AnimalsIf you need to transport animals in your car you need to make sure they are safe. So cats, birds & small animals tend to be put into cages. However dogs tend to be let to sit in the car without restraint. I know you can put them in a car boot space with a restraint safeguarding them from flying over seat.

If a dog needs to sit in the back of the car then it needs to have an appropriate restraint the best being a chest type of dog lead which buckles into to seatbelt  holder

When in a vehicle make sure dogs or other animals are suitably restrained so they cannot distract you while you are driving or injure you, or themselves, if you stop quickly. A seat belt harness, pet carrier, dog cage or dog guard are ways of restraining animals in cars.
