The Extended Driving Test
The extended driving test is given to those drivers who have been convicted of a serious driving offence such as dangerous driving, and it has been decided by the court that they need extra training before being allowed to drive again.
So when the period of disqualification is passed the driver has to apply for a provisional license & pass the theory test as normal. They can apply as normal for a driving test but instead of driving for about 35 – 40 minutes they will be driving for about 60 minutes. Other than that the test is not marked any differently to a normal test & the test routes will be different & more demanding.
